Torch Relay to Arrive Netherlands To Support Human Rights in China

Hague, Netherlands – On October 3rd and 4th, 2007, the Global Human Rights Torch Relay, an activity to support human rights in China, will be held in the Netherlands. This activity is launched and sponsored by the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG).

Human Rights Torch Relay was lit up in Athens, Greece, on August 9th. 2007. Its goal is to appeal to the international community to boycott the 2008 Beijing Olympics with the motto “The Olympic Games and the crimes against humanity cannot coexist in China”.

David Matas, Canadian lawyers and the author for the book “BLOODY HARVEST“, will be in Holland on a special trip to participate in the activities of Human Rights Torch Relay and give a speech on October 3rd and the 4th.

The activities of the Global Human Rights Torch Relay will be held in two cities in the Netherlands: Hague (October 3) and Amsterdam (October 4).

The arrangement of the activity is as follows:

  • October 3, 13.00 -15.00: Hague – Congress Plaza (Plein) (assembly, speech). Torchlight will arrive at the Peace Palace of the International Tribunal.
  • October 4, 16.30 -18.30: Amsterdam – Dam Plaza (assembly, speech). Torch Relay will go through the city centre and return the Dam Plaza in the end.
