A Chinese Farmer Self-immolates on Tiananmen Square

Posted by Author on July 21, 2006

Central News Agency,

HONG KONG – According to the Hong Kong-based Information Center for Human Rights and Democracy, on the morning of July 20, one farmer set himself on fire in Tiananmen Square. The man was severely burned and undergoing treatment in a hospital. The authorities were investigating the cause.

The Information Center spoke with an employee from a travel agency situated nearby to Tiananmen Square who witnessed the incident. The witness confirmed that at approximately 9:00 a.m. on July 20, one man suddenly set himself on fire in Tiananmen Square. The flames were put out in less than a minute. A large group of police and one ambulance arrived at the scene, and took the man away in the ambulance.

The Information Center also cited sources from the Tiananmen Square Management Committee that the man was a farmer from outside of Beijing and he was severely burned and under going treatment in hospital.

The Center also tried to confirm the above information with over ten Beijing stationed provincial offices, but none of the officials were willing to disclose any information. Tiananmen Police Station confirmed the incident with the Center but refused to mention anything further.

When a farmer can no longer farm his land to provide a decent living for his family (because his land was taken without compensation or reallocation) then his pride and decency withers. In other words when life is so hopeless and when you are governed by an evil regime that will not allow for common decency amongst human beings; when they take away your belief in Buddhas Daos and Gods and try to put themselves higher than Buddhas Gods and Daos , when you are ruled with fear and corruption is the currency; then there appears to be no way out unless you do have strong belief in Buddhas Daos and Gods. I fear for the Chinese people who have been deceived so badly for the last 57 years thru the evil communist regime who by the way was imported from Russia.

The Chinese people must themselves rise up against this foul specter and the democratic countries of the world must support them when they do. It seems like the rulers of China and Russia are a team with the common goal of ruling the world with communism and bringing down the western democratic freedom loving countries.

Please support the Chinese people and know that Falun Gong is Good and will ultimately bring them salvation that will bring about their freedom in this world and the next.

I keep thinking what the situation should be that a man will think causing harm to himself is the only way out.
